John Prine Birthday Tribute at The Pattenburg House

It’s no secret that John Prine has had a huge influence on my musical life…and hopefully made me a better person in the process. This October 10 would have been John’s 76th birthday. Like anybody who knew him or loved his music, I wish he were still around to blow out all those candles.

In loving memory of this most human of humans, my buddy Michael Patrick has organized a special birthday tribute for John at the venerable Pattenburg House on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 9. Several other local performers will each play 4 of John’s immortal tunes. I hope you’ll come to sing along and hoist a “Handsome Johnny” (or two) in his loving memory. Performing along with Michael Patrick and myself will be Chuck Schaeffer, George Wirth, Brian Molnar, Joe Cassady, Dan Toye, Joe Janci,  Caren Kennedy, and Edison Wilson.
